Lady Seaward’s CE Primary School offers a ‘stimulating learning environment in a very special building’ according to latest SIAMS report
Lady Seaward’s CE Primary School in Clyst St George, Devon, is ‘living up to its foundation as a Church school’ according to the most recent SIAMS (Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools) report by the Church of England.
The report offers much praise for the primary school, saying it ‘provides a stimulating learning environment in a very special building’ with ‘a strong Christian vision’ supported by ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ Trust; outstanding pastoral care and excellent outreach to families. Parents are said to ‘speak enthusiastically of the Church school ethos and its impact in terms of [being] a caring community and moral guidance.’  
There is much acclaim for the pupils of Lady Seaward’s who are recognised as being ‘confident, reflective learners’ who ‘behave well and are very considerate’.
Michala Firth, Head of Lady Seaward’s CE Primary said, ‘We are very proud of the latest SIAMS report and everything it recognises. We are lucky to have some wonderful, caring pupils who fulfil our Christian values on a daily basis through initiatives such as the local food bank, the ‘friendship bench’ which ensures no-one feels excluded in the playground, and extensive charitable work.
Michala continues, ‘Our school exists because of the aspiration of Lady Seaward and the local church to support parish children in their academic and spiritual development. We are very aware of our history and the legacy that the local community is still benefitting from today. As educators, we are constantly reflecting and exploring how we support and develop spiritual growth across all subjects.’
The report highlights the support on offer from ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ Trust, a multi-academy trust of 21 primary schools across Devon and west Dorset, with ‘strong leadership enabling staff to flourish and feel valued’, enabling the development of wrap around care and the new Nursery which accepts children from two years old.
